A Few Days in The Life of A Future Soldier 2014, 70cm x 60cm each, oil on canvas

I donated this triptych to a charitable auction to help the Ukrainian Army and decided to give the money to a badly wounded cameraman. The auction is being held by RA Gallery, Kiev. The wounded cameraman is Oles Navrotskyi.

Taia Galagan Gershuni was born in Kyiv in 1968. In the early 90s she studied at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in the Faculty of Theory and History of Art and belonged to the circle of artists known as ­­the Paris Commune. She received an MFA in painting in Canada, and has taught at colleges and universities in Saskatchewan and British Columbia. Since 2009 lives and works in Kyiv. In 2011, Art Ukraine magazine named Taia Galagan-Gershuni as one of the top 100 most influential figures in contemporary Ukrainian art. She works with painting, installation, objects and words.
