Chiyoko Szlavnics is a Canadian composer and visual artist. She lives in Berlin, Germany. Her musical work explores extending sound in time in order to enhance the perception of certain details of sound. Her visual artwork corresponds in a synaesthetic manner to her musical works, and is often produced in response to what she perceives in her musical works––or as the genesis of future pieces. Chiyoko Szlavnics composes for acoustic instruments and sinewaves. She has produced several drawings series that have been featured in international exhibitions.
